THE DOGS DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT in Nederlands Film Festival
As a coproduction of Afghanistan, the Netherlands and Iran, Ramin Rasouli’s second film, THE DOGS DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT will be shown in the official program of Nederlands Film Festival (September 21st to 30th, 2022 / The Netherlands).
A new kind of neo western, intertwining three narratives of sheltering an injured gunfighter, living under the mob’s night raids and taking revenge and also using the intact landscapes in the background of the film, THE DOGS… was premiered in International Film Festival of India – Goa 2021 (Main Competition) and then participated in Chennai International Film Festival 2021 (India), FIff – Fajr International Film Festival 2021 (Iran / Interfaith Prize Winner), Wales International Film Festival 2021 (UK / Finalist – Best Foreign Language Film Category), Kazan International Muslim Film Festival 2021 (Russia / Russia – Islamic World Program), Barcelona Asian Film Festival 2021 (Spain / Discoveries Section), Sao Paulo International Film Festival 2021 (Brazil / New Filmmakers Competition), Carthage International Film Festival 2021 (Tunisia / World Cinema Section), Popoli e Religioni – Terni Film Festival 2021 (Italy / Competition Section), Bastau International Film Festival 2021 (Kazakhstan / Special Afghan Programme), Golden Jury International Film Festival 2021 (India / The Best Foreign Language Film Award Category), International Guwahati Film Festival 2022 (India) and Afghan Film Cycle in Barcelona – Casa Asia Special Program (Spain).
