GOLDEN BLOOD in Dubai

In the first edition of Meta Film Fest, to be held in Dubai, UAE, from October 27^th to 29^th, 2022, Ebrahim Sheibani’s GOLDEN BLOOD will be part of the Official Competition program.

Inspired by the real life of a woman serial killer who was the first to be hanged in Iran, GOLDEN BLOOD chooses a different way in the storytelling, narrating some parts of the story from the point of view of the killer’s daughter (with a bravura performance by Tarannom Kermanian), focusing on the everyday routines and problems occurring for a lonely mother dealing with a criticizing mother, an addicted husband and two daughters, the elder ambitious one and the smaller disabled one. The film also benefits from the experiences of some of the best known film professionals such as Shahab Hosseini (winner of the Best Actor Award in Cannes and Berlinale for THE SALESMAN and A SEPARATION), Hossein Jafarian (DOP of great modern classics of Iranian cinema including NARGESS, THROUGH THE OLIVE TREES, THE MAY LADY, TWO WOMEN, UNDER THE SKIN OF THE CITY, CRIMSON GOLD, ONE NIGHT, FIREWORKS WEDNESDAY, ABOUT ELLY, and THE SALESMAN).
