Hanoi IFF 2022: BONE MARROW in Competition, THE DOGS… and THE CHICK in Panorama
In Hanoi International Film Festival (November 8th to 12th, 2022), Hamid Reza Ghorbani’s BONE MARROW enters the competition while Ramin Rasouli’s THE DOGS DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT and Bijan Aarabi’s THE CHICK will be showcased in Panorama.
Ghorbani’s second film, BONE MARROW, has been previously included in the official selection of Vancouver IFF 2021 and Asian Film Festival Barcelona 2022.
Rasouli’s second film, an Afghan-Dutch-Iranian coproduction, THE DOGS DIDN’T SLEEP LAST NIGHT was premiered in the main competition of International Film Festival of India – Goa 2021 and then participated in Chennai International Film Festival 2021, Fajr International Film Festival 2021 (Interfaith Prize Winner), Wales International Film Festival 2021 (Finalist – Best Foreign Language Film Category), Kazan International Muslim Film Festival 2021 (Russia – Islamic World Program), Barcelona Asian Film Festival 2021 (Discoveries Section), Sao Paulo International Film Festival 2021 (New Filmmakers Competition), Carthage International Film Festival 2021 (World Cinema Section), Popoli e Religioni – Terni Film Festival 2021 (Competition Section), Bastau International Film Festival 2021 (Special Afghan Programme), Golden Jury International Film Festival 2021 (The Best Foreign Language Film Award Category), International Guwahati Film Festival 2022, Afghan Film Cycle in Barcelona – Casa Asia Special Program 2022, Nederlands Film Festival 2022, Sama International Film Festival 2022 (Best Film Award Winner), Universal Film Festival 2022 (Best Drama Nominee) and Ekurhuelni International Film Festival 2022 (Finalist).
Aarabi’s short film, THE CHICK, has participated in main competitive section in prestigious festivals such as Hong Kong, Fribourg, Leeds, etc. and named the winner of CH Cinema Network Award in Fribourg 2021.
