IrFFNY 2024 awards A CHILDLESS VILLAGE
In the 2nd Iranian Film Festival in New York – IrFFNY (January 25th to 30th, 2024 / USA), Artistic or Technical Achievement Award goes to A CHILDLESS VILLAGE, directed by Reza Jamali and produced by Salman Abbasi.
Reza Jamali’s second feature film, A CHILDLESS VILLAGE, narrates the story of the women, deprived of their essential rights, in a patriarch, traditionalist community, in some type of meta-cinema, relying on the intact landscapes, language and culture in Ardabil province, reflected on the silver screen with mesmerizing imagery and originality.
The film has previously participated in Tallinn 2022 (Critics’ Pick Competition), Red Sea 2022 (Best Script Award), Dhaka 2023, Pune 2023, Matera 2023 (Best Film Award), Sao Paulo 2023 (Competition of New Filmmakers), this human world – International Human Rights FF 2023, Alternativa Film Awards 2023 (Feature Film Competition), Chicago Indie 2023 and Sofia MENAR 2024.
