JUNKS & DOLLS to compete in Batumi IAFF 2024

Manijeh Hekmat’s JUNKS & DOLLS is included in the competitive program in the 19^th edition of BIAFF – Batumi International Art Film Festival (September 27^th to October 3^rd, 2024 / Georgia).

Shot in a real waste depot in the Northern Forests in Iran, the film underlines the director’s enthusiastic attention to love and sustainability, depicting a couple trying hard to make a small paradise in the middle of the ruins of the nature on the Planet Earth.

The film has been already part of program in Kolkata International Film Festival 2023 (Special Screening), International Film Festival of Kerala 2023 (World Cinema), Dhaka International Film Festival 2024 (Best Film Award in the Women Filmmakers Competition), Women’s International Film Festival – India 2024 (World Cinema), Phoenix Film Festival 2024 (World Cinema Competition), SIEFF – Seoul International Eco Film Festival 2024 (International Competition), Galway Film Fleadh 2024 (World Cinema Competition), Frames of Freedom Film Festival 2024 (Iran Focus Program) and Kinoshock Film Festival 2024 (Feature Film Competition).
