SUMMERTIME wins awards at Dhaka 2025
Mahmoud Kalari’s SUMMERTIME received the Special Mention for the Best Director and the Best Actor Award (Rayan Sarlak) at the 23rd Dhaka International Film Festival (January 11th to 19th, 2025 / Bangladesh).
Travelling back in the labyrinths of Iranian Modern History, the film shows how a childish lie could turn an innocent young man into a monster and collapse the lives of the family members. Through narrating the story, Kalari has created a ballet of the images and made a different masterwork in recent Iranian films.
The film has been previously screened in such international film festivals as Sao Paulo and Bosphorus.
