Director’s View:
Iran and Germany are two countries that have experienced a lot of ups and downs in 20th century; moreover, they share a lot of cultural, political and historical links. These links are blended into each other in a fascinating way playing their role in the destinies of the two countries. SELF PORTRAIT WITH LADY is a documentary, focusing on the political, social and cultural relations between Iran and Germany during the 20th century…
Director’s Profile:
Born in 1977 in Tehran, Mohsen Shahrnazdar is active as an anthropologist and scholar in social sciences. Apart from his studies and publications, he has made a number of documentary films. In 2011, he was locked up along with some other documentary filmmakers when one of his films was broadcasted on foreign media. His latest venture, SELF PORTRAIT WITH LADY, has been made in 15 years (from 2010 to 2025).
