KILLING A TRAITOR goes to Rotterdam

In the 52^nd International Film Festival Rotterdam (January 25^th to February 5^th, 2023 / The Netherlands), Masoud Kimiai’s latest film, KILLING A TRAITOR, will be screened at the Harbour section, heart of the event, in its international premiere.

Kimiai, one of the two initiators of Iranian New Wave in 1969, which was started when he made QAISAR and Mehrjui made THE COW, goes back into the labyrinths of Iranian modern history in the days before Coup ’53. Apart from his unique approach to the atmosphere in a vital period in which the democracy was robbed from an emerging nation, he uses the historical settings for paying tribute to his favorite movies and genres and restaging his landmark scenes in a very different way in KILLING A TRAITOR.
