Les Rimbaud du Cinema Best Performance Awards go to MAMAN

Roya Afashar and Erfan Ebrahimi are respectively named winners of the awards for the Best Performance in a Leading Role and Best Performance in a Supporting Role for Arash Aneessee’s debut feature film, MAMAN, at the 4^th Les Rimbaud du Cinema (October 18^th to 22^nd, 2022 / France).

Following the story of life of a lonely mother working as a taxi driver, trying to rule over his sons by making them distant from each other after losing whatever she had in the course of the big changes in her homeland, Arash Aneessee’s MAMAN has been presented in Fajr National Film Festival 2021 (Best Actress Award), International Film Festival of India – Goa 2021 (Debut Competition Entry), Chennai International Film Festival 2021, Moscow International Film Festival 2022 and Wales International Film Festival 2022 (Finalist – Best Foreign Language Film Award).

The other two Iranian feature films selected in the competition section of the festival were Alireza Amini’s THE 4^TH ROUND and Setareh Eskandari’s THE SUN OF THAT MOON.
