SUMMERTIME to compete in Bosphorus FF 2024
Mahmoud Kalari’s film, SUMMERTIME, would be a part of the International Feature Film Competition program at the 12th Bosphorus Film Festival (October 18th to 25th, 2024 / Istanbul, Turkey).
Established himself as one of the most distinguished Iranian cinematographers with his unforgettable contribution to the prominent Iranian auteurs such as Abbas Kiarostami, Jafar Panahi, Dariush Mehrjui, Bahman Farmanara, Asghar Farhadi and Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Mahmoud Kalari prepares a gorgeous visual feast, when travels back to Summer ’53 – the year of American coup in Iran. Showing that how everyone and everything, including the innocent kids and their pure love, is tragically affected in a social upheaval, SUMMERTIME depicts a turbulent world in which a victim could be transformed to a hangman…
The film will start its international journey one day sooner at Mostra – Sao Paulo International Film Festival 2024.
