THE LOCUST will be premiered at SXSW 2022

In its World Premiere, Faeze Azizkhani’s second feature film, THE LOCUST, will be presented at SXSW – South by Southwest Film Festival (March 11^th to 20^th, 2022 / USA).

In THE LOCUST, Azizkhani portrays a girl screenwriter who has not succeeded to make her favorite semi autobiographical script and sold it to her best friend to direct it. Trapped in a dead-end in her life, she faces the problems addressed by Virgina Woolf as well – “A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction”. She is going to play the central character herself, but during the reading rehearsals, when the others begin making judgments on the character and naming her a stupid loser, she becomes too irritated to handle the situation…

THE LOCUST is intelligently and wittily structured in her confrontations with the cast and the crew, the family members, the ghost of her dad and a rooster supposed to be a part of the film they’re making.
