THE CHICK in International Short Film Competition of Fribourg IFF

Bijan Arabi’s THE CHICK is included in the International Short Film Competition of the 35^th Fribourg International Film Festival (16-25.07.2021 / Switzerland).

The festival was initially planned for March 19^th to 28^th, 2021 and selected the film as a World Premiere title, but postponed due to the pandemic.

In less than 15 minutes, dealing with some concepts such as migration, insecurity, helplessness, beliefs and friendship, the director leads us to two quintessential questions, “Where are the boundaries of love? And are the unlawful actions and lies justified by love?” In order to focus on these concepts and questions, the film embodies the central object of attraction in a chick mascot costume in most of the scenes.

THE CHICK has previously entered the competitive section of Hong Kong International Film Festival and a special program in Vienna Shorts.
